Join the MBG Referral Network 

Based on explosive client need, we are currently opening opportunities in our MBG Referral Network for the following county and county areas in Western PA:  Beaver; Butler; Lawrence; North Allegheny, North West & West Allegheny; East Allegheny; South Allegheny; Washington; and Westmoreland.    Our needs are to quickly identify, interview, and develop “Affiliate” groups in each of these geographical areas.   Areas of specialty are Residential Properties, New Home Construction, Income Producing Properties, Commercial Properties, and Land for Development. 

The network 

We designate members in our network as “Affiliates.”  For each each county listed above at least one affiliate group will be developed.   Each group will consist of 10-14 members.  These groups will be created to deliver the broadest range of skill, knowledge, experience, and agency diversity to the group.  Candidates will be selected based on a multi-tiered interviewing process.  Affiliates will also have to commit to participate in structured monthly group meetings and will also have an the opportunity to participate in exclusive MBG training and development programs along with marketing opportunities.  Affiliates will have some input as to time, place, and valued content for each of the meetings.

Please note that at the Max Business Group we do not take our business relationship with our clients lightly.  We strictly hold to our core values, and in doing so have committed to “single client representation” in which any Member, Partner or Affiliate of the Max Business Group can only represent one side in any transaction.  It is the foundation on which the MBG Referral Network is built.  We will also hold our “Affiliates” to the same policy when receiving or providing referrals through the network. 

What is a referral?

A referral to us is not where one captures a phone number and calls another agent and negotiates a referral fee by giving them the phone number.  A referral in our system is one where and upfront substantive discussion has been entered into analyzing the customer’s financial and timing needs along with their expectations and level of involvement in the process. 

We have created two forms that help in the referral process.  The first is our exclusive Clarifying Customer Needs initial interview document which helps the user to easily and quickly obtain the minimal but critical information needed to make the best decision on whether to accept or refer the business.   The second form is the  Max Business Group Referral Forms which sets the contract between the brokerage firms providing for the shared understanding of fees to be paid to the firms out of closing.  

Getting referrals

Referrals from or to the Max Business Group will be distributed to it’s members based on location and type of property.   When providing referrals on a particular project, the local MBG Partner will be asked to select the affiliate with the highest skill base, knowledge, and experience for that side of project.    That individual will have the opportunity to accept or reject the project.  If they reject the project, another qualified candidate will be selected.   If no one in that Affiliate group has the skills, ability, or motivation to best meet the needs of that particular client, an Affiliate member from another group will be selected.  Each “Affiliate” of a group will receive one referral before any member receives a second referral, and then a third, etc.  It would also not be unusual that we refer both the listing and buyers representation sides out to our affiliates.  Referrals into our firm will be first to our Partners and then our Affiliates based on the criteria for selection as described above.  

Providing and receiving referrals

Our firms policy on providing and receiving referrals and the amount of compensation for those referrals are clear and fair.  The structure treats all parties equally and is based on our unique blended “% rate with cap” compensation model.   Therefore, we provide and receive referral fees at the rate of 20% of the side with a maximum rate based on our cap for a particular type of property.  You will be provided a copy of that schedule during the final interview process.
